琉球列島、中国及び台湾に分布する。モクタチバナの葉に生息するが、Crotonothrips dentifer (Priesner)と共に見られることが多い。食性は不明だが恐らく食葉性。

This species is distributed across the Ryukyu Islands, China, and Taiwan. It inhabits the leaves of Ardisia sieboldii [Primulaceae] and is often found alongside Crotonothrips dentifer (Priesner). Its feeding habits are uncertain, but it is likely a leaf-feeder.
